Abbey and Ava on the 4th of July

We had a wonderful time with Abbey and Ava while they were visiting in Orem on the 4th of July.  Ava is very mobile now and can crawl backwards (we hope it won't be long before she can crawl forwards!). This picture shows Ava standing up in the ExerSaucer:

Abbey had a lot of fun making a patriotic "flag" cake. She helped Grandma Bev bake the cake and then she and her cousins Grace and Gabe decorated the cake:

They took turns putting blueberries (to create the stars) and strawberries (to represent the red stripes) on the cake:

This picture shows the completed cake. It was yummy!

Saturday evening, Abbey watched fireworks with some of her Zimmerman cousins. Eric, Grandpa Scott, and Uncle Marshall put on a wonderful show of fireworks (all legal):

Some of the fireworks were very loud. This picture shows Abbey covering her ears (along with Grandpa Scott and cousins Grace, Gabe, Todd, Alec, and Davion):

Abbey and Ava enjoyed playing with Grace, Gabe, and Leo. We are glad Abbey and Ava are coming to visit again at the end of July.

The cake was tasty. I love the cute pics of Abbey wearing her sunglasses.

It was such a fun holiday weekend with all the little grandkids. Abbey and Ava are loved by their cousins--and by everyone else.
