Two-Year-Old Ava

Ava just went to her two-year-old checkup. The pediatrician was pleased with how well she is growing. She weighs 26 lbs, 6.5 oz. (43%tile), and is 33.5 inches tall (42 %tile).

Here is a picture of Ava enjoying the ward Halloween party:

And this picture shows her "helping" Grandma Bev get ready for a baby shower:

She is a very happy, busy little girl.

Abbey's First Day of Kindergarten

Abbey was very excited to start school. Her first day of kindergarten was August 30th. Here she is on her first day of school:

Abbey goes to Greenwood Elementary School in American Fork, Utah.

She walks to school every day with her cousin Grace, who is in her class. They love their teacher Mrs. Siebach. Here are Grace and Abbey on their way to school.

Abbey and her classmates are learning the initial consonants:

to discriminate sounds:

and to write the letters:

Abbey loves school, especially reading and drawing.

Keep up the good work, Abbey!

We Made It Two Years

August 30th marked two years since Sheri left this life and Ava came to this earth. We tried to do some special things again this year to commemorate this very crappy/happy day.

One thing that we decided to do different this year was to go and have our pictures taken. Abbey picked out matching outfits for herself and Ava (Luckily they didn't have any my size).

Abbey picked out some flowers and we took them to Sheri's grave. Abbey and Ava enjoyed running around and playing at the cemetery until it was almost dark.

Sheri, everytime I look at Ava I am reminded of the selfless sacrifices that you made for our family a very long two years ago. We will always love and cherish you for the amazing woman that you were and still are.

Remembering Sheri, Aug. 2011

After two years, we still think a lot about Sheri. Here is a picture of her grave with flowers and balloons from her family and from Eric and the girls:

A thoughtful friend also left a note with some flowers.

We all love and miss Sheri.

Celebrating Ava's Second Birthday

Sunday evening, August 28, 2011, the Zimmerman and Klein families got together to celebrate Ava's second birthday. Here is the cake that Wendy made for Ava:

Ava and the rest of the family clapped when Abbey blew out the candles (Ava couldn't figure out how to do it on her own):

The families enjoyed a barbequed dinner. Here Abbey and her cousins eat hotdogs:

Over 40 people came to the party, which was held in Scott and Beverly's back yard:

Ava enjoyed eating the cake and ice cream (mostly the ice cream):

Ava unwrapped her gifts:

Ava looked over a big package before she unwrapped it:

We all had a great time eating and chatting at Ava's party. Happy Birthday, Ava!

Abbey and Ava in Orem

Abbey and Ava have been busy since their move to Orem. They've especially enjoyed playing with their cousins (who also lived at Grandpa and Grandma Zimmerman's house for awhile). This picture shows Abbey and her cousin June:

And this picture shows Ava playing with her cousin Isaac:

Abbey has continued to cook with Grandma Bev. Here are some colored pancakes (pink, yellow and blue) they made:

Ava has continued her favorite activity --- eating the things Abbey and Grandma make:

Abbey and Ava both enjoy playing outside. Ava loves her little trike:

Abbey loves her bike:

Abbey is getting very grown up. Next week she will start kindergarten with her cousin Grace at Greenwood Elementary School in American Fork.

Ava is also very grown up. Next week she will be two years old.

Abbey and Ava are wonderful little girls and loving sisters. All of the Zimmerman family are happy that they now live closer to us:

Goodbye Montana!

July was a very busy month for us (Eric, Abbey and Ava). We sold our house, packed up our stuff and made the long trek back to Utah. Deciding to move back was a tough decision and it took nearly two years to make it. We will miss all of our friends, our house, the beautiful country and all of the reminders of the great memories that we made there. The one thing we won't miss very much are are the freaking cold winters.

This was our home for 5 years. Sheri and I moved in just before Abbey was born. We put a ton of work into this house and made a lot of great memories...it was tough to leave it.

This was our front room. We really hated that fireplace...

When we bought the house the kitchen was the worst room in the house. After a lot of hard work and a ton of swear words, this room became our favorite room in the house.

This was our family room downstairs in the basement. It was our favorite room to relax in.

The coolest thing about our house was the view. We will truly miss the beauty of Montana!
