Attending the Billings, Montana temple

Sheri served in the Montana Billings Mission prior to the building of the Billings temple. All the missionaries were excited for when the temple would be built. Sheri collected a stock of wheat from the field where the temple would be built, had it framed, and sent it to her family (along with her testimony) for Christmas in 1997:

The temple was to be built against a picturesque rock cliff on the northeast side of Billings. Many of the residents thought the temple would detract from the beauty of the city. The missionaries helped them understand the purpose of the temple and invited them to the groundbreaking. The Church News reported that 4,800 people braved a pelting blizzard to attend the groundbreaking ceremony on March 28, 1998:

On their way home from their trip to Missoula for Abbey's birthday, Grandpa and Grandma Zimmerman traveled to Billings to attend the temple. They drove through areas where Sheri worked on her mission (Belgrade, Bozeman, and Billings). They were pleased to see that the Billings temple is lovely and adds to the beauty of the city. The setting is peaceful.

Grandpa Scott and Grandma Bev were happy to attend the temple, and to think of Sheri and her mission.
