Cooking with Abbey (June 2010)

Grandpa and Grandma Zimmerman went to Lolo for Abbey's birthday. While they were there, Grandma Bev spent time cooking with Abbey. This picture shows Abbey in the apron that Grandma made for her.

First they made strawberry "mice."

Here is the finished product:

And this picture shows Abbey eating one of the "mice" she made:

Then they made a Father's Day gift for Eric by spelling out "Dad" in bread dough. Abbey insisted on spelling her name and Ava's name first:

After the dough was baked, they added a powdered sugar glaze and slivered almonds. The two "G's" are for Grandpa and Grandma:

Then they made a Father's Day card for Eric. Abbey picked out the parrot sticker for the tie, added the heart stickers, and signed her name:

Then they dipped Abbey's and Ava's hands in paint and put their handprints on a piece of paper. They also gave Eric some candy---a "Mr. Goodbar" and a "Big Hunk":

(Ava thought the hand painting was lots of fun and made a mess!)

While Abbey and Grandma Bev were cooking, Ava entertained Grandpa Scott by playing with her penguin toy:

Grandma and Grandpa had a lot of fun with Abbey and Ava and didn't want to come home:

What a lucky grandma to get to play with such adorable girls. I know my kids can't wait for July to get to play with Abbey (and for me to snuggle Ava).
